what is klife

KLIFE is a discipleship ministry for youth. Through weekly small group Bible studies and other activities, KLIFE kids grow in their walk with the Lord and build lasting relationships they can count on for the rest of their lives. KLIFE’s ultimate goal is to make disciples who will make disciples.

KLIFE works alongside churches and families in the community to teach and encourage kids to be strong in the Lord in spite of all the negative pressures they face as teenagers. KLIFE networks kids from different churches, and those without a church affiliation, to build positive, Godly relationships that can withstand the negative peer pressure so prevalent in today’s youth culture.

OUR MISSION

“We point students to Jesus so they will know Him, love Him, walk in surrender to Him, and be equipped to point others to Him also.”

OUR THEME VERSE

“We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.” – I Thessalonians 2:8

OUR MODEL OF MINISTRY

GROW EXCITEMENT

Our desire is to provide a safe environment, through gatherings full of energy, laughter, and fellowship, where Biblical truth is heard, Godly community is experienced and relational equity with students is built as their excitement for the Gospel grows.

Engage hearts

Our Small Groups are the “heartbeat” of our ministry & comprised of same-gendered peers that gather on a weekly basis with a trained leader to study Scripture, encourage spiritual growth, promote accountability within the group and engage hearts to rely on the hope found in Jesus.

SHAre life

Our Small Group leaders are trained to pursue their students not only during small group time, but also seeking out intentional discipleship opportunities to meet students where they are at. This context is often necessary to address the deeper issues students are facing, as well as provide specific gospel centered truth, encouragement and guidance as they share life together

Why klife and WHY DISCIPLESHIP

Research shows that for every ten Christians who step foot on a college campus, only two graduate still professing to believe in Jesus. The overwhelming common denominator for the two out of ten is they had someone intentionally investing in them during their teenage years; someone like a KLIFE small group leader.

Teenagers are walking onto college campuses unable to defend their faith, but when a young adult shares their life with a teenager, transferring spiritual truths and life experiences, they are far more likely to continue walking with Jesus through college.

Philosophy of ministry

The secret to a successful youth ministry is not organization. The secret is not talent. The secret is not advertising. The secret is not funding. The secret is the supernatural, undeserved, free, sovereign grace of God. It is His grace that prepares the hearts of kids, families and volunteer leaders you will minister to. It is His grace that removes the obstacles that Satan has thrown in your path to prevent you from ministering. It is His grace that gives you the words to speak, places you where you need to be, and makes his or her heart receptive to the gospel. It is His grace that allows the seed of the Word to take root in the soil of a soul and bring forth fruit to everlasting life. It is His grace alone.

And the degree to which we recognize that and make ourselves available to be instruments of His grace, our ministry is guaranteed to be effective .... maybe not by man's standards... but man's standards will be of no consequence when we get to heaven. Conversely, the degree to which we set up a scenario for us or Klub or our small group or our events or our relationships to receive glory for winning souls or growing saints or doing anything else eternal, to that degree we frustrate the grace of God.

If God chooses to use KLIFE in the Kingdom, it is not because we are special. It is because God is special, and He can use anything- especially the weak things of this world to confound the mighty. Our prerequisite for greatness is not found in what we do or how great we are, but in how humbly we fall on our faces before God and ask for His amazing grace. He wants to win the lost more than we do. He wants to grow the saints more than we do. He wants to train the leaders more than we do.

If we would spend at least as much time on their knees, humbling themselves before God, as they do planning and training and organizing, God would come onstage and do wondrous things for His church. It's all of grace, Beloved. It's all of grace. Yes, we train. Yes, we study. Yes, we plan, but only as a means to an end. That end is to bring tools to lie at the feet of our God and ask Him to use them as He sees fit, and to remove them if they get in His way.

OUR STATEMENTS OF FAITH

We believe the Bible is the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

We believe in the unity and the trinity of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, and He is our sole mediator. We believe in His sinless life, His death on the cross as the atonement for sin, His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His future return.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality, and His activity in regeneration and sanctification.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned in Adam, and that he is now a sinner by nature and by choice.

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from works.

We believe that the church is the spiritual body of which Jesus Christ is the head.
